Work Place Molestation
Work place molestation (or sexual harassment) is a crime. You have a right to a wage. The wage does not have to come at the cost of sexual innuendo, inappropriate groping or threats of sexual violence. Do not allow your rights (in this regard) to be flaunted as unreasonable. Ensure you take appropriate steps to combat this form of harassment as it can easily lead to stress that you do not have to endure in the work place.
One way to combat work place molestation is to report all incidents of it to the authorities. Don’t be afraid to report work place molestation incidents for fear of losing your job. It is an unjustified reason to fire someone and can lead to heavy fines, open the door for law suits and even jail time for the offender or executive in charge of the work place in which you work. You do not have to feel like it is something you have to tolerate – simply put, you don’t.
If you are the victim of work place molestation and it is not your boss who is responsible you should consider approaching them or a supervisor. Because of the inherent nature of sexual harassment, employees who are responsible for practicing it are liable to lose their jobs or at the very least receiving a warning about their inappropriate behaviour. Never feel like you are responsible for their inappropriate behaviour. However you are responsible in regards to reporting it and ensuring it stops.
Work place molestation is something you are responsible for reporting. If you are the victim of such harassment ensure you approach someone in authority who can take charge of the situation and either warn the offender or punish them. If you don’t do something to stop them then chances are they will continue doing it or start doing it to someone else.
